I am offering a three day painting workshop this month February 26, 27, 28, in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area, Sapulpa, to be exact. At the Close - A dusk painting based on movement.

Evening Reflected - In this piece that is mostly an exercise in stretching all of the summer green that you see in a scene, the reflected sky was a great contrast to play off of.

Up Lit Apple - This is a recent commission that I was asked to do based on an earlier piece.

Edmond Field - In this painting I was experimenting with a new medium, just exploring some of it's possibilities.

Canyon Lake Color - I pushed the range in this piece for my needs. Intensifying the shadows and reducing the color in the light somewhat offered me a statement I liked. I can see this as a large piece now.

Pacific Nocturne - Working in the darker key of a night scene still allows for plenty of room for color and value manipulation to lead the eye.

Through the Night - This is a piece from about a year ago. I was reminded of it from last nights moon which has me thinking about another nocturne.

SOLD - What Lies Ahead - Sometimes the subject of the painting or the "idea" of the painting is purely about the paint. What can occur through the paint. Here my "reason" to paint was about movement.

Interchange - My subject is not always the actual forms that are painted but as in this case it is the action that is occurring. The exchange of the previous wave going out and the new one coming in is what intrigued me.

SOLD -Evening's Acclaim - I limited my palette in this piece and worked in a narrow range of color that suited the aim of the piece.

SOLD - Winter Veil - Another of my paintings in the show at the Albuquerque Museum's Miniature and More show.

Spruce and Birch - This painting is available at the Albuquerque Museum's Miniatures and More show that hangs through December sixth. If you can visit the show it will be well worth your time, they always have good work.

The Call of Grace - This painting is on view at the Gilcrease Museum's American Art in Miniature Show.

Pear Glow - There is an uplift to the pear by the radiant light.

Seeking the Light - This piece was a great pleasure to paint. There is one more pear to come.

SOLD -Tipped - One of the challenges I confronted in this piece was to get the tipped piece of apple to come up of the surface.

SOLD - D'Anjou on the Down Low - Todays painting was a nice combination of the visual and the verbal coming together and one side helping the other from the very beginning.

On the Edge - In todays painting I was pushing the warm and cool to the edge of balance against the yellow of the lemon.

SOLD - Front Lit - In this piece I was most intrigued by the light striking and then falling off transitioning quickly.

Slices and Plate - I was able to concentrate on the design and set up in todays painting. Subtle alignments and the particulars of spacing was what excited me to paint this.

Plum on Box - In todays painting I have enjoyed the subtle light that is bathing the plum.

SOLD - Plate and Slice - Today's painting allowed me to key off of the strength of the white plate.

Order - In todays painting the lines that I imposed into the composition was a way of creating an order to balance with the lines of the slices themselves.

Wood Spoon - Balancing the basic shapes of triangles, rectangles and circles was the problem to solve in todays painting.
